With the Australian Labor Party, as well as a surge of minor parties and independents, receiving overwhelming voter support, the Australian public's demand for stronger action on climate change and net zero targets was made clear. But the energy transition will take a serious amount of investment in renewable energy resources so who pays? Recent trends have seen an uptick in crowdfunded energy projects, indicating that communities aren't just taking action on climate change with their voting ballots, but with their wallets too.
